অনুবাদ
অনুবাদ বলতে বোঝায় ভাষান্তর বা ভাষান্তরকরণ। এক ভাষা থেকে অন্যভাষায় রূপান্তর বা পুনর্বিবৃতি। বিভিন্ন ভাষাগোষ্ঠীর মধ্যে তথ্য বিনিময়ের প্রধান উপাদান হচ্ছে অনুবাদ। বিশ্বের প্রায় সব তথ্য ও জ্ঞান ইংরেজি ভাষায় পাওয়া যায়। তাই ইংরেজি ভাষা থেকে অনুবাদের ওপর অধিকতর গুরত্ব দেওয়া হয়। অনুবাদের পারদর্শিতা মূলত অভ্যাসের ওপর নির্ভরশীল। অনুবাদ কোন প্রকারের হবে তা নির্ভর করে ভাবের উপর।
- অনুবাদ প্রধানত দুই প্রকার। যথা:
১. আক্ষরিক অনুবাদ,
২. ভাবানুবাদ।
অনুবাদ করার সময় কতকগুলো বিষয় লক্ষ রাখতে হয়। নিচে তা প্রদত্ত হলো:
ক. ক্রিয়ার কাল অনুবাদের ক্ষেত্রে পরিবর্তন করা যাবে না।
খ. পরিভাষা না থাকলে অনুবাদে ইংরেজি শব্দ ব্যবহার করা যায়।
গ. অনুবাদে সাধু ও চলিত ভাষারীতির মিশ্রণ দূষণীয়।
ঘ. অনুবাদের সময় বান্ধারা ও প্রবাদের প্রয়োগ যাতে সার্থক হয় তা লক্ষ রাখা।
ঙ. প্রশ্নবোধক ও আশ্চর্যবোধক বাক্যের অনুবাদ মূল্যানুসারে হবে।
চ. যদি একটিমাত্র সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া থাকে, তবে বুঝতে হবো এটি একটি সরল বাক্য।
ছ. বাক্যের মধ্যে যতগুলো সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া আছে ততগুলো বাক্যাংশ আছে বলে ধরতে হবে।
বিগত পরীক্ষার প্রশ্নসমূহ বিশ্লেষণ করে দেখা যায় যে, অনুবাদ অংশে মূলত ইংরেজি Proverb (প্রবাদ-প্রবচন) এসেছে। সে দিকে লক্ষ্য রেখে নিচে গুরত্বপূর্ণ Proverb (প্রবাদ-প্রবচন) তুলে ধরা হলো-
